Deep into Soul launched on Saturday March 26th 2011, in the upstairs room of an Ethiopian restaurant in Stockwell (although advertised as being in Clapham). It was born out of frustration due to the creator of DIS feeling Soulful events had lost their way and was being given a bad press.
The idea, a simple one, was to create an environment for a mid-sized audience of like-minded souls consisting of great DJ line ups, Live PA’s, and a friendly atmosphere. The first two years saw 3 venue changes until, in 2013, we found our home in Brixton at The Prince Of Wales (POW).
The Summer Sunday all-dayers were born on the terraces from June to September (Monthly) with the Winter Sessions running bi-monthly, the brand has gone from strength to strength seeing International DJ’s performing alongside the best the UK has to offer with many people now saying we are
The Friendliest party in Clubland.
In 2014 we become the official Southport Weekender/Suncebeat re-union party in London and joined forces with Mi-Soul radio in 2015 to co-host a new yearly festival in Ibiza called Mi-Biza. In 2016 we hosted our first boat party at the Suncebeat festival in Croatia and also invited up North to be a part of the Liverpool Disco Festival.
Deep Into Soul has presented alongside it’s residents Rhemi Music AKA Neil Pierce and Ziggy Funk, David Bailey, Shaun Ashby and Deejay Fiddla the likes of Joey Negro, Danny Krivit, Terry Hunter, DJ Spinna, Spen, Karizma, Fish Go Deep, Frankie Feliciano, Rich Medina, Basement Boys, Mad Matts, Sean McCabe, Opolopo, Souldynamic, Phil Asher, Craig Smith, Atjazz, John Morales, Paul Trouble Anderson, Sy Sez, Jasper Street Company, Taliwa, Hanlei, Sabrina Chyld and an impromptu set from Osunlade whilst attending one of our events, to name a few.
So what does the future have to offer I hear you ask?
We will continue to be driven by our loyal supporters bringing you more all-dayers on a Saturday, collaborations and joint ventures with brands that share our passion whilst not losing our ethos.
